Buy My Dress is an initiative to get women throughout Ireland to donate a once loved dress that is now either too big, too small or bought on impulse and barely worn to be sold on at Ireland’s largest one day Charity Dress Sale. A perfect event in this current economy where a new little number can be bought for a mere snip of it’s original price. Most dresses range from between €10 - €50.
Businesses around Ireland come on board and ask their staff and friends to donate to the cause and some Business’ are kind enough to act as a drop off point for the general public. For retailers this can be an added bonus getting footfall across the door. We also encourage ladies to organise “Girls Nights In” or coffee mornings where friends and colleagues bring along a dress to the occasion.
Another option for donating is to send your dress FREEPOST to The Down Syndrome Centre, Unit 405, Q House, Furze Road, Sandyford Industrial Estate.
As well as donations from the general public the increase in donations from celebrities increases with every year. Last year we received a record amount from Imelda May, Pixie Lott, Saoirse Ronan, Amy Hubberman’s IFTA dress, Miriam O’Callaghan, Glenda Gilson, Jackie Lavin, Sile Seoige, Laura Whitmore to mention a few.
